Tiny VPS terms
These terms govern the Tiny VPS service (version 2026-10-17.1). They add to the 8Examples website terms and privacy policy, which continue to apply.
Effective and last updated: October 17, 2026
1. What the service is
A Tiny VPS is an unprivileged Linux system container running Ubuntu Server on a shared physical machine operated by 8Examples Inc. in Calgary, Alberta. Containers share the host kernel. This provides weaker isolation than a separate virtual machine and no availability commitment. It is offered as a low-cost utility server, not as critical infrastructure.
2. Resources and limits
Each VPS is limited to 512 MiB of memory with no swap, 5 GiB of disk under an enforced quota, 256 processes, a ceiling of one core’s worth of CPU time on shared cores, a 100 Mbit/s network rate, and 500 GiB of transfer per month. These are ceilings, not reservations. We may reduce a VPS’s share temporarily to protect the host and other customers. There are no paid overages or upgrades.
3. Access
Inbound access is SSH only, on a unique public port shown in your account, via a hostname under fusenv.com that we control. No other inbound ports, public web hosting, dedicated IP addresses, nested containers, privileged mode, or custom kernels are provided. You receive an admin account with sudo and a platform-generated password you can reveal or reset from your account. If you change the password inside Linux, the stored platform password stops working and we cannot recover your replacement.
4. Billing
The price is $4 USD/month, charged through Stripe at purchase and monthly thereafter. A successful renewal extends your paid-through date. You may cancel renewal at any time and keep access until the paid-through date. If a renewal payment fails, access continues for 3 days after the paid-through date; after that the VPS is suspended. If we cannot deliver a working VPS within 30 minutes of a confirmed payment, we cancel the order and refund the initial payment in full. Deleting a VPS yourself is immediate and final; it ends future charges and the current period is not refunded.
5. Suspension and deletion
A suspended VPS is stopped and its network access revoked; its disk, hostname, port, and credentials are preserved for 7 days, after which it is permanently deleted along with its data and credentials. Paying within the retention window restores the same server. We may suspend a VPS immediately, independent of billing, for abuse, security incidents, or legal requirements; such a hold is not cleared by payment.
6. Data and backups
No backups of your VPS are included. You are responsible for keeping copies of anything you cannot lose. We back up our own control plane and credential records, not customer disks. Hardware failure, host failure, or deletion under these terms may result in loss of your data.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use a Tiny VPS to send unsolicited email, scan or attack other systems, host malware or phishing, mine cryptocurrency, proxy abusive traffic, infringe rights, or break the law. Outbound SMTP on port 25 is blocked. You must not attempt to access the host, other tenants, or our private networks, or to raise your resource limits. You are responsible for everything done through your VPS and its credentials.
8. Changes and termination
We may change these terms prospectively by posting a revised date and may discontinue the service with at least 30 days’ notice, refunding any unused prepaid period on discontinuation. The limitation of liability in the website terms applies; our aggregate liability for the Tiny VPS service is limited to the fees you paid for it in the preceding three months.
