OpenClaw Alexa Skill terms of use
These terms govern your use of the OpenClaw Alexa Skill supplied by 8Examples Inc. Voice access to a powerful OpenClaw carries special risks, so please read them carefully.
Effective and last updated: August 16, 2026
1. Parties and acceptance
These terms are an agreement between 8Examples Inc., a corporation based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada (“8Examples,” “we,” or “us”) and the person or organization using the OpenClaw Alexa Skill (the “Skill”) (“you”). By enabling, pairing, accessing, or using the Skill, you agree to these terms, the Skill privacy policy, the OpenClaw service agreement, and the OpenClaw privacy notice. If you act for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement.
2. The Skill
The Skill is a voice bridge between Amazon Alexa and a paired OpenClaw. It can submit a spoken request, report the latest task’s status or result, and request cancellation. Tasks may continue after Alexa stops waiting, and cancellation may not reverse an action already completed or sent to another service. Features are experimental, may change, and may be unavailable, delayed, misunderstood, duplicated, or incorrect.
Amazon Alexa, Echo devices, Amazon accounts, internet service, OpenClaw, AI models, and connected tools are separate products or services with their own terms, limits, and availability. We do not control or guarantee third-party services.
3. Voice-interface risks and your responsibility
Alexa may mistranscribe speech, omit context, confuse speakers, or accept a command from another person within range. OpenClaw may interpret a request incorrectly and can browse, communicate, use tools, access data, or take external actions according to its configuration. You are solely responsible for the Skill’s use, the people with physical or account access to Alexa devices, the OpenClaw you pair, all permissions and credentials it holds, and every command, output, and action.
You must use least-privilege access, restrict the Alexa-specific OpenClaw agent, protect pairing and account access, use voice profiles or device controls where appropriate, independently verify important information, maintain backups, and require human review or a separate confirmation channel before any consequential action. Do not use the Skill for emergencies, safety-critical control, or as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, employment, housing, insurance, credit, security, or other high-impact decisions.
4. Authorized and lawful use
You may use the Skill only with an Alexa account, device, OpenClaw, data, tools, and services you are authorized to access. You must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, orders, licensing requirements, contracts, platform rules, and Amazon policies, including rules concerning privacy, recording and consent, communications, intellectual property, consumer protection, artificial intelligence, anti-spam, sanctions, and export controls.
You must not use or permit the Skill to facilitate unlawful access, surveillance, impersonation, fraud, deception, harassment, discrimination, malware, credential theft, security attacks, harmful or illegal content, infringement, spam, evasion of safeguards, or harm to people or property. You must not probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer except where law expressly permits, or obtain unauthorized access to the Skill, bridge, another user’s OpenClaw, or supporting infrastructure.
5. Pairing, security, and shared devices
Pairing associates an Alexa user identifier with a configured OpenClaw. You must not disclose a pairing code or claim a code unless authorized. Alexa devices may be shared-room interfaces; pairing does not prove that every later speaker is you. You accept the risk that household members, guests, coworkers, recordings, or nearby voices may invoke the paired OpenClaw. Notify us promptly of suspected compromise, disable the Skill when access should end, and rotate or revoke affected credentials and permissions.
6. Privacy and data
The Skill privacy policy describes how information is processed. You represent that you have all authority, notices, consents, and lawful bases required to submit information and direct its processing. Do not provide sensitive or third-party information unless it is necessary, authorized, and appropriately protected. Amazon processes Alexa voice interactions under Amazon’s own policies and settings.
7. Availability, limits, suspension, and changes
We may establish or change reasonable limits on requests, task duration, storage, model usage, concurrency, response length, or other resources. We may throttle, restrict, suspend, unpair, or terminate access without warning where reasonably needed for security, legal compliance, provider restrictions, excessive or abusive use, infrastructure protection, non-payment, breach, or discontinuation. We may change or discontinue all or part of the Skill. The OpenClaw service agreement’s fair-use rules also apply.
8. Intellectual property and feedback
8Examples and its licensors retain all rights in the Skill, bridge, branding, and related materials. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Skill with your authorized OpenClaw. You retain rights you hold in your content. You grant us the limited rights needed to transmit and process it to provide, secure, and support the Skill. If you voluntarily provide feedback, you permit us to use it without restriction or compensation.
9. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Skill is provided “as is,” “as available,” and at your own risk. 8Examples disclaims all express, implied, statutory, and collateral warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, security, availability, compatibility, and results. We do not warrant that Alexa will hear or identify a speaker correctly, that OpenClaw will interpret or perform a command correctly, that cancellation will reverse an action, or that errors, unauthorized use, security events, or harm will be prevented.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, 8Examples Inc. and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, aggravated, or punitive damages; loss of profit, revenue, savings, opportunity, goodwill, reputation, data, privacy, or use; business interruption; mistaken or unauthorized action; account compromise; disclosure; embarrassment; financial loss; personal or property harm; third-party claim; or cost of substitute services arising from the Skill, Alexa, OpenClaw, or a connected service, even if advised that such harm was possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Skill will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid specifically for the Skill during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim and CAD $100. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits a non-waivable statutory right. Any unenforceable limitation will be narrowed only as much as necessary.
11. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless 8Examples and its personnel from claims, losses, liabilities, penalties, and reasonable legal costs arising from your commands, content, paired systems, breach, unlawful or unauthorized use, infringement, or harm to a third party, except to the extent caused by conduct for which indemnity cannot lawfully be required.
12. Termination
You may stop using and disable the Skill at any time. Termination does not automatically reverse completed OpenClaw actions or delete information held by Amazon or connected services. Data deletion is addressed in the Skill privacy policy and OpenClaw privacy notice. Sections that by their nature should survive—including responsibility, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and disputes—survive termination.
13. Governing law and general terms
Alberta law and applicable Canadian federal law govern. Before filing a claim, the parties will try in good faith for 30 days to resolve it by contacting [email protected]. Courts in Calgary, Alberta have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to non-waivable consumer rights. These terms and the incorporated policies and agreements are the entire agreement concerning the Skill. Invalid terms are severed or narrowed; the rest remains effective. Delay is not waiver. You may not assign without consent; we may assign in a corporate transaction. We may update these terms prospectively, with notice where reasonably appropriate for material changes.
