Tiny VPS

A small Ubuntu server with SSH, for $4 USD a month.

512 MB of memory, 5 GiB of persistent disk, a share of the host’s CPU, and a hostname of its own under fusenv.com. Log in as admin with a password we generate and keep revealable in your account.

It is a system container on a shared kernel, not a virtual machine, and not a high-availability service. It runs on one small machine in Calgary alongside other work. If that is what you need, it is a very good deal; if you need isolation guarantees or uptime commitments, it is the wrong product.

How you connect

Plain SSH does not carry a hostname the way HTTPS does, so every VPS gets its own public port instead of port 22. Your account shows the complete command, for example:

ssh -p 22041 admin@cedar-otter.fusenv.com

Your files, hostname, port, and password survive restarts and host reboots. SSH local forwarding works for your own services; it cannot reach other tenants or our private networks.

Billing, in plain terms

  • $4 USD/month, charged when you order and then monthly. Renewals extend your paid-through date without touching the server.
  • Cancel renewal any time; you keep access until the date you have paid for, then the VPS is kept for 7 days before deletion.
  • If a renewal fails you have 3 days after the paid-through date to fix the card; then access is suspended, the data is kept 7 more days, and paying in that window restores the same server.
  • If we cannot deliver a working VPS within 30 minutes of payment, the order is cancelled and the payment refunded in full.
  • Deleting a VPS yourself is immediate and final, and stops future charges; the current month is not refunded.
  • No customer backups are included. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot lose.
